MEDIEVAL CITIES
Located 10 minutes from the gîtes des Oliviers, do not miss the cities of Castillon la Bataille, Rauzan, Gensac , as well as Bergerac in the Dordogne (30 minutes). Known for their many listed historical monuments, you will be immersed in a medieval atmosphere in settings that will take you back in time.
To discover these villages in a fun way, a treasure hunt for 3-15 year olds can be downloaded online. 
A MIDDLE AGE FORTRESS
The Château de Vayres is located on the banks of the Dordogne. This fortress was the property of King Henry IV. With its imposing Italian facade and its monumental staircase giving access to the French gardens, it is one of the most majestic monuments in Aquitaine.
You can take advantage of your visit to go to the small port of Saint-Pardon and admire the impressive spectacle of the Tidal Bore wave, a natural phenomenon known by surfers around the world.

LITERARY HIKING
No need to go very far, the Pierre Loti hiking trail passes right in front of the gîtes ... This literary hike, accessible to all, is not to be missed. From the town hall of Flaujagues to the Cellier des Guinots, passing by the Maison Pignon, you will discover the fictional work of an author who sought in vain the peace of a sweet marital home.

And yes, the 5th best golf course in France, is only 15 kms from the gîtes des Oliviers! On a plot of more than 100 hectares, discover this exceptional course, between vineyards and hundred-year-old oaks, signed by one of the best architects in the world. Open to golfing visitors all year round, by reservation, Grand St-Emilionnais Golf Club  also offers a restaurant that offers simple dishes that change with the seasons.
THE DUNE OF PILA
& CAP FERRET
For a day, you set off to storm the Dune du Pila on the Arcachon side, and after crossing the basin by boat, opt for a picnic on one of the famous beaches of Cap Ferret , at the entrance to Truquette's beach, for example, where a wooded area allows you to picnic in the shade of the pines. Do you prefer to enjoy the view of the basin? A tasting of oysters in an oyster hut is essential. 
And if you are ready to face the waves of the ocean, with 25 kms of fine sand you have the choice. Our tip for having fun with friends or family: the supervised beaches of Truc Vert or Horizon.

Marion offers you her baskets made with seasonal vegetables to collect on the farm. The gardens of the Horsetail , market gardens in agroecology and permaculture, are in the town of Flaujagues. Eating healthy and organic is easy at Gîtes des Oliviers ;-)
GOOD ORGANIC BREAD
Located 5 minutes from the Oliviers gîtes, the Comptoir du Boulanger offers its ultra-digestible sourdough breads, pastries, pastries, snaking, and also local products: nut cream, jams, honey, chocolates and cabecou.
